Bike to Work Day

Today is National Bike to Work Day. I love “national days” that encourage Americans to do something healthy – and not only for themselves but for the environment, too!

I’m an anomaly in the D.C. area: I can walk and ride my bike to work every day. I know, I know – I’m very lucky. (Please don’t hate me)

Bike to Work Day: Beach Cruiser Edition
(and yes, this is the bike I ride to work)

If you are in DC, Virginia, or Maryland, the Washington Area Bicyclists Association is going all out. There are 49 regional pit stops and 27 commuter convoys. Find more information here.

Did you bike to work today? Did you meet up with a convoy or take a pit stop? How was it?

  1. No wonder I saw so many bikers this morning!

  2. Your bike is adorable.
I wish I could participate, but my city is not set up for bike travel and I can't figure out how to get all the kids to school/daycare on the back of my bike!

  3. It's too far and dangerous for me to bike to work, but I do have a long ride scheduled for Sunday. That' counts right?

  4. Man, I missed it! I was totally going to bike commute to work on national bike day and I had no idea it was today. oh well, maybe next week.

    Love the cruiser!

  5. I would absolutely love to but since most of my commute is high way and is 40 minutes long it's just not in the cards!!

    LOVE the beach cruiser!

  6. you are SO cute!!! and that bike is awesome!!! if I had a bike like that I would ride it too!

  7. This is so awesome! Love your bike!
    🙂

  8. Very sweet ride. Like the color.

I used to ride every other day sometimes everyday depending on the weather (rain) going to work in Seattle. Fun. Best shape of my life. It was a 20 mile roudtrip commute via bike. It was actually faster than driving while sitting in traffic. I could also eat just about ANYthing I wanted in life at that time knowing I had the commute to burn it off along with running.

  9. My shop is across the driveway. I'm a LUCKY girl too. I don't even need a bike.

    Cute ride!

  10. Your bike is adorable, and you look so cute on it! I wish I could ride my bike to work more often, but sometimes I get off after midnight and don't feel like taking my chances.

  11. I love your bike! LA in general isn't very biker friendly (unless they want to install bike lanes on the 10 freeway), but your bike would fit right in here on the beach where I live. EVERYONE has a beach cruiser, and I'm slightly jealous of yours!

  12. Very cool! Love the pic!

  14. Looks aren't the only thing this cruiser has though. It wouldn't be a sixthreezero without the smooth cruise configuration, so you know it will not only look great, but it'll give yopu the smoothest and easiest ride possible California Bikes.

  15. Beachbikes.net was formed and a whole new way of purchasing a bike was developed. Now a bike shop is no longer the only place to find a great bike, you can find one online and have it shipped to your door and assembled in under ten minutes.
