Scott Jurek, world renowned ultramarathon champion, U.S. record holder, author, and amateur vegan chef, is on the road promoting his new memoir Eat & Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness.
Lucky for me, he’s coming to Arlington.
I might be slightly partial {he’s a Brooks athlete – and helped design my favorite trail shoe of all time} – but I think Scott is pretty cool. I’m so excited that I finally get to meet and run with him. {I get nervous just thinking about running with an ultramarathon champion!}
If you live in Northern Virginia, don’t miss the opportunity to run (and hang out) with Scott on Friday, June 8.
When: Friday, June 8, 2012. 6:30-9pm
Where: The Nature Conservancy
4245 N. Fairfax Drive
Arlington, VA 22203
What: Join Pacers and The Nature Conservancy for a fun run with Scott Jurek to celebrate the release of his new book, Eat & Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness. The run will begin in the courtyard of The Nature Conservancy (located across the street from the Ballston Metro) at 6:30pm and end at Pacers Clarendon with a book signing, Q&A and food/drink. The run is open all paces and abilities and will be approximately 3 miles (or less).

I’m jealous! I think Scott Jurek is wicked cool, too!
So bummed this doesn’t fit my schedule! I love him and would love to meet him. Enjoy the opportunity!!
I preordered the book and it landed on my doorstep today…can’t wait to start reading! See you Friday!
Bummer! I won’t be able to make it to Boston to see him tomorrow! I recently just started following Scott and am very impressed. Plus, his Chocolate Adzuki Brownie recipe in last month Runner’s World is amazing!
I’ve been dying to try the brownie recipe (it looks crazy delish), but it looks hard to make. What did you think?
June 16th – I’ll be there with bells on! I read the book and loved it. I just think he is such an incredible guy — as an athlete and as a human being.
Dang! He will be in Chicago on Thursday but I won’t be here. I’ll be on my way to Madison for the Ragnar Relay.
i can’t tell you how bummed i am that i will miss this. my buddy Will has his last tee ball game of the season and they let them play “under the lights” like the big leaguers for it. he has been looking forward to it all season and i’m so excited for him and the rest of his buddies. gotta go support my little slugger and the rest of his team!
scott jurek is nothing short of amazing and i really cannot wait to read his book! i can’t wait to hear all about this incredible experience.
Le sigh…I’m on the other side of the world. Would love to come. Like Scott, I’m vegan and it’ll be awesome to meet a like-minded athlete. Not sure if my local bookstore will stock his book.
I need to tell my friend, she lives also in NOVA and is vegan as well. She will be excited!!
