Bucket List before Baby

Mom Confession: I’m so excited for baby #2 and can’t wait to meet him or her – but part of me is really mourning the loss of “just the two of us“, as in Mr. President & me. I know all of that will change the second I meetIMG_6248 my sweet baby and get a whiff of that delicious newborn scent but until then, I can’t help but cry when I think about how things are (drastically) going to change in +/-30 days.

That’s why I’m hoping to spend these precious moments with Mr. President, exploring & adventuring around our great town, and checking items off our “Bucket List before Baby”.

  1. What a great idea! I’m really glad you shared your bucket list because the idea never even occurred to me. We have 2 months or less until Baby #2 is here and I have been more intentional about playtime with my son. We have been on a lot of outdoor adventures riding the tricycle, playing in the sandbox, etc… just doing “big boy” stuff that won’t be as easy when new baby arrives!

We are so excited to meet our baby #2 but it is a little bittersweet to say goodbye to all of the one-on-one time with our first! Only 30 days to go for you!!! Such an exciting time!

    • I love your outdoor adventures, too. We’ve been spending a lot of time outside too (when we can). Enjoy – as you know, the time goes fast!

  2. How about making a list of things you are going to try to remember to do once #2 is here, so you can refer back to it later. For example, spend at least 10 minutes a day alone with #1 after you have the baby….it sounds like such little time but it can be almost impossible to do unless you make it a priority. You could also go to a mom and tot yoga class if you can find one locally.

    • That’s a great idea, too – thanks! I’ve had a hard time with the mom/tot yoga classes – there aren’t many options for his age range. Such a bummer but I’ll keep checking.

  3. It is crazy the different emotions that come up when pregnant with #2! I was like OHHH WHAT about Leo! lol. and now its like OHH WHAT about Leo…said NO ONE EVER 🙂

you and Mr President have to check this place out:

    • Haha! Too funny 🙂

I love the idea of the natural playground – I’ll add it to the list, thanks! You guys look great and have a beautiful family!

  4. I love this idea!! How about a children’s museum? There is one Fredericksburg and Richmond.

  5. How time flies! Enjoy the adventures, it’s great to have a list of things to accomplish so you really can enjoy those special moments. Not something I ever thought of doing…mind you, #2 came almost 30 days early so in my defense I didn’t have time!
